Original Publication Date: 1985-Aug-01

This article teaches the use of a mass storage card having read/write memory and a battery operating the memory to continuously store information when the card is not plugged into a personal computer or terminal. The card takes the place of a magnetic diskette and is plugged into the personal computer or terminal through an opening in the covers. The card will store personalized data, run profile, specialized programs and so forth that would otherwise be stored on a magnetic diskette. A storage charger is provided separate from the personal computer or terminal for receiving the mass storage card and keeping the battery of the mass storage card charged when not in use, thereby maintaining the data stored in the read/write memory.
