Linear Shipping Tube Loader

An automated loader for inserting modules into linear shipping tubes is disclosed. Referring to Fig. 1, a plurality of linear shipping tubes 10 are stacked vertically in empty tube track 12. As seen in Fig. 2, finished modules 20 are gravity fed down slide 22 and stopped by foot 24 until the desired number of modules to be loaded in a tube 10 have accumulated as sensed by photocell 26. When a full load is sensed, the tube to be loaded is lifted into close proximity to the module slide, retracking the foot, thereby allowing the modules to fall into the shipping tube. The finished tube is then pushed into the full tube track 14 for later removal by the operator. The empty tube track 12 and the full tube track 14 are kept vertical by respective rodless cylinder 28 and spring assemby 30.
