In semiconductor processing, there may be wasted motion of the placement tool used to pick up the next part in the placement sequence when various components are placed on a circuit board. A machine has been developed which stores and dispenses the electronic components. While the machine is rotating to the next component selection, the robot arm to which the machine is attached is translating to the next component location. This approach can be of most value in those instances where there are several hundred similar devices per card.
