A current limiting device (fuse) has been invented for use in ceramic capacitors used in the semiconductor industry, but which has universal application, not necessarily being limited to capacitors. It can enhance system reliability by preventing fires, preventing circuit board or module damage. It eliminates inoperable circuits, and allows use of components which have a short circuit fail mode.
