Self-Aligning Leadscrew Follower

The present structure provides a self-aligning leadscrew follower which is particularly suitable for use as the leadscrew follower moving the carriage of an impact printer along a leadscrew type escapement. The present leadscrew follower structure, unlike conventional leadscrew followers, is not urged to direct grinding relationship with the lead registration with the leadscrew and zero backlash. The structure is self-aligned with respect to the leadscrew and has an even load distribution. It involves the leadscrew follower which, instead of merely contacting a small angle of the leadscrew circumference, contacts 180 degrees of the circumference.
