A high sensitivity sense amplifier is employed with a memory array consisting of a plurality of one-device cells. Sensing is effected by utilizing a charge transfer scheme. A one-half C reference cell is utilized in conjunction with pull-up capacitors on the bit lines, allowing the detect sensitivities of a stored one and a stored zero to be made equal.
