Use of Ultrasonic Horn For Thermal Bias In a Multi-Copy, Non-Impact Printer

The present apparatus relates to non-impact printing using an ultrasonic horn for printer energization. The operation is based on the recognition that during the functioning of the ultrasonic horn, heat is inherently generated. In order to control the heating of the horn and maintain the horn within an operative heat range, the apparatus monitors the horn temperature and, by means of a closed loop feedback, controls the ultrasonics so that a temperature within selected operable ranges is maintained.
