One Layer Optically Transparent Keyboard For Input Display

The present structure provides a one layer optically transparent keyboard made up of an optically transparent pseudo X-Y matrix either embedded into or coated onto the face plate of a display structure, wherein the intersection of two lines have to be touched in order to make a selection, either indirectly by capacitive sensing or directly by shorting through the finger. The structure is an optically transparent, touch-sensitive keyboard which is designed to be placed in front of a display device. The display device may at times function as an ordinary display, while at other times it provides legends corresponding to touch-sensitive areas on the keyboard surface.
