The circuit shown above is a transformer push-pull class A-B amplifier which provides a sine wave across the terminals of output windings OUT1 and OUT2. The output sine waves across OUT1 and OUT2 drive the two wires of a telephone line. They are generated from an input sine wave applied to input terminal IN.
