A known type of single fiber cutting tool includes an anvil with a convex upper surface. A fiber to be cut is clamped on either side of the anvil, which is spring biased upwardly to place the fiber under tension. A spring metal cutting finger is lowered to nick the fiber, allowing it to break under tension.
