Abstract

In evaluating a device controller it is often found that a polling sequence is more suitable for detecting service requests than using processor interrupts. Many processors are found to be awkward to program for polling loops. In addition to detecting service requests, it is frequently desirable or necessary to have a priority capability since more than one request may be pending concurrently.
