Computer-Assisted Word Entry Process

This article describes a method for the entry of data or text by way of a keyboard-actuated mechanism in which one out of m keys in an array is to be stroked such that n strokes complete entry of one symbol from a source alphabet of m/n/ symbols. The n key combinations may be ordered on a dexterity scale and associated with symbols in descending order, wherein combinations of the key positions highest on the dexterity scale are assigned to the symbols of highest relative frequency of occurrence.
