Abstract

In servo control systems, digital tachometer feedback is often used to control motor velocity. Unfortunately, tachometer ripple tends to distort the feedback and consequently the velocity control. The technique described herein improves velocity control by utilizing bandwidth switching to minimize the effects of digital tachometer ripple.
