Text Editing Display System With Vertical Expansion Of Selected Lines For Highlighting

The present system relates to text editing using displays such as CRT displays. More particularly, it relates to dot matrix display devices for text editing having means for expanding the displayed characters in the vertical direction only. In this manner, selected lines of text may be made to stand out from the full text display. By such vertical extension only, it becomes possible to make the character stand out with remarkable clarity while retaining the remainder of the text, even a full page of text in the display. Because no horizontal expansion is necessary, all the lines in the full page display are readable and may be correlated with the emphasized lines for editing purposes.
