Actuator 1 is pivotally linked to and linearly moves slidable work fixture 2 back and forth between two work stations POS. 1 and POS. 2 along line L. Actuator 1 is pivotally linked to the pistons P of pneumatic cylinders 3, 4, which are in turn pivotably affixed to frame members 5, 6. Each cylinder 3, 4 has a pair of adjustable flow and bypass control valves 7 connected to opposite sides of its respective piston P. By judicious positioning of cylinders 3, 4 and adjustment of valves 7, cylinder 3 is in main control of actuator 1 and hence fixture 2 most of the travel distance D between the two stops 8, 9, and cylinder 4 is in main control of actuator 1 for the rest of the travel distance D.
