Joysticks find application in cursor control for CRT displays, TV games and model aircraft control. In a null position the stick is aligned with a Z axis and has two degrees of freedom. The mechanism resolves stick angular components in X and Y directions into respective x and y angular rotations of transducer shafts to generate electrical output signals. The mechanism described has fixed transducers and provides a compact device as the working elements lie in the X,Y plane when the stick is at the null position.
