Ru Alloy For Electrodes
An oxidized Ru alloy has been found which is superior to RuO(2) for use as
an electrode for the generation of oxygen.
It has been found that an oxidized alloy of Ru and W or a solid solution of
RuO(2)-WO(2) is superior to electrodes of RuO(2). If the ratio of the Ru to the W
is between approximately 8:1 and 9:1, the resulting electrode will have exchange
currents which are 3 to 4 times greater than RuO(2).
