Fig. 1 shows a video digitizer using a charge-coupled device (CCD) Image Scanner. Shown there are four blocks: (A) pin electronics for CCD, (B) logic to generate basic CCD driving signals for its dynamic operation, (C) high speed A/D converter, and (D) storage to hold digitized data. (A) and (B) together can be called "front-end electronics".
