Process For Plating Silver Display Electrodes With Controlled Surface Roughness

In electrochromic displays based on the viologens, it is desirable that the unwritten electrodes should be white in color to maximize contrast with the written electrodes. It is also desirable from both the visual and electrochemical aspects that the surface of the unwritten electrodes should be matt. Accordingly, a process of plating silver electrodes with a controlled surface roughness is described.
