This search box also supports the look-up of an IP.com Digital Signature (also referred to as Fingerprint); enter the 72-, 48-, or 32-character code to retrieve details of the associated file or submission.
Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

Cermet Resistor Configuration And Trimming
It is desirable to have a low length-to-width ratio in cermet resistors. This can
be achieved by having interlocking combs of electrodes 10 and 11 which are
separated by cermet material 12.
Furthermore, space on the substrate can be minimized by having at least one
end 20 of the cermet material 12 circle around a connector pin 15. The electrode
10 also circles about the pin.
Trimming a resistor like that shown can be accomplished by first cutting
across the resistor in a direction indicated by arrow 30 such that the resistance
value is changed by a relatively large amount as the cut crosses each segment
of the resistor. When the resistor is found to be within a certain tolerance range,
the direction of trimming is changed to that indicated by arrow 32 such that the
cut makes a relatively small change as it proceeds. The cut proceeds in the
direction of arrow 32 until the desired resistivity is obtained.
