Abstract

The circuit illustrated is a push/pull driver type with built-in short circuit protection. Normal logical operation is achieved by exercizing A, the input. The inverted output signal A is monitored. When A is UP, T1 must conduct, keeping the totem-pole arrangement of T2 and T3 OFF and supplying base drive to T4. Therefore, A is Down. When A is Down, T1 cannot conduct; therefore, T4 is off and the totem-pole circuit (T2 and T3) charges the output capacitance to the 1 level.
