The above drawing shows an optical character recognition system for use with a specially designed font called recognizable coded information (RCI) font. The system includes a scanner 10 having a linear diode array interconnected to scanner interface electronics. The scanner reads an RCI document and outputs signals indicative of the data recorded on the RCI document into an alignment and a compression algorithm logic (ALCO).
