Strobe Controlled Data Output Circuit

In integrated circuit FET memory systems including strobe responsive data output buffers used in conjunction with differential output current sensing, maximum output currents are usually specified in order to protect various circuit components from being overloaded. Designs are particularly sensitive when open drain data output line discharging devices are responsive to externally provided strobe signals. In order to limit the maximum output current, data output line discharging devices must be designed not to exceed the maximum output current under all acceptable ranges of drain supply voltage, strobe level voltage, output level voltage, as well as the acceptable range of device parameters caused by process variations.
