Devices sharing a common bus for communication with a processor (or control) facility are uniquely addressed by the processor using only identical undifferentiated transformation circuits and address detection circuits in the devices. This eliminates a requirement for manually introducing address differentiation in the devices at installation, e.g., by the placement of jumper wires.
