Energy transmission between a stationary and rotating frame usually requires relative motion between certain elements in the transmission chain, for example, slip rings for electrical signals and rotary seals for fluid signals. U. S. Patent 3,586,413 shows how to avoid this relative motion, utilizing an assembly of gears and support members. Shown above is a mechanism which accomplishes the same ends more simply.
