Contiguous disk bubble domain chips fabricated with contiguous disk propagation structures often have a read/write major loop design in which a transfer gate is required to move the bubble domains from the major loop to a stretcher/sensor. This transfer gate requires an extra current driver and increases the number of contact pins required by the chip.
