Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

Acoustic Beam Gating Device
An acoustic beam gating device is described for controlling the beam width,
the relative position between a transducer and an acoustic beam, and the beam
direction of an ultrasound system.
In Fig. 1, undesired acoustic rays from a transducer 1 will be reflected by
special, similar reflectors 2 and 7, and attenuated by sound absorbers 5 and 6.
Reflector 2 is shown more specifically with a 45 degree glass plate 3 and an air
pocket 4. The desired, controlled acoustic ray 8 will be propagated through a
target (not shown) to a receiving transducer (not shown). At the receiver, the 45
degree glass plate will be turned 180 degrees, and different ray paths can be
detected separately. The entire assembly shown in Fig. 1 is immersed in water.
The air pocket device 2 is shown in detail in Fig. 2. The acoustic wave front 9
reaches the thin glass plate 3. Due to the mismatch in impedance between
water 10, glass plate 3 and air 4, the incident wave I(I) will be reflected as wave
I(R), which is perpendicular to the original wave path. The surface wave I(s)
along the glass surface 3 and bulk wave I(B) along the glass will be shifted 45
