An approach is provided which reduces machine cycle time by eliminating the check point access of data arrays required before each destination. A standard method for check pointing the data is to save the original value of each piece of data that is modified after a malfunction. Then the system can be restored to the exact state that existed at the beginning of a check point interval. However, this method requires sourcing each piece of data before it is modified.
