A vibration-damping mount or linear coupling is shown in Fig. 1. Individual solid or tubular rubber rods 1 are mounted as the central member between a support base 2 and a mounting base 3 of metal or other suitable material, as shown. Formed ears or enclosures 4 are included as a part of each base 2 and 3, respectively, to retain the rubber rods or tubes 1, as shown. Loads applied in the direction of the arrow to the mounting base 3 in the vibrational vertical direction will be damped or absorbed by the flexure or shear in the damping rubber rods or tubes 1 supported in the support bases 2, as shown.
