Ramp and Hold Circuit

When using servo loops to control movements of objects such as the printheads in a printer, it is necessary to provide a voltage which ramps up to a desired voltage to begin the operation and which ramps to another voltage at the end of the operation. The circuit shown in Fig. 1 is designed to provide an output voltage which ramps to a desired voltage determined by the particular switch closed, and is held at that voltage until such time as another switch is closed.
