Imprinter Having A Belt-Driven Imprint Roller
Original Publication Date: 1979-Dec-01

In an imprint operation, an imprint roller is moved in one direction on a pressure-sensitive paper superposed on a plastic card with embossed characters thereon to press them against an imprint bed. The roller is braked to stop the movement and, when the card has been fed away therefrom after imprinting, the roller is reversely moved to return to its original or home position. For protecting a roller drive mechanism from being damaged by the roller failing to stop after imprinting, a unique attachment mechanism is provided for connecting the roller with the drive mechanism.
