Abstract

Printer throughput should be optimized, but there is a maximum printing speed that should not be exceeded and should be maintained only for a short period of time so as not to damage the printer. Control apparatus for limiting the throughput in a printer is based upon the mechanical and electrical specifications of the printer. Throughput limiting is on a line-by-line basis so as to allow faster print speeds within defined conditions.
