Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

Variable Speed Cassette Tape Transport
A cassette tape drive is provided having a selectable speed format, a
retractable head, a linear tape speed monitor, an electro-optical record search
system, and the optimum in package compactness.
The unit, shown in Figs. 1 and 2, consists of a base plate or cassette cradle
10 to which are attached two motors 12 and 14, a cassette eject lever 16, a file
protect switch 18, cassette guide pins 20 and pressure spring 22. The solenoid-
operated head support arm 24 is also attached to the base plate. The arm 24,
besides supporting the read/write head 26, also facilitates the BOTEOT
(beginning of record and end of record) detector 28, and the linear tape speed
monitor. Space is also available on the support arm 24 to mount an erase head.
To assure linear tape speed, an electro-optical encoder 32 was developed.
The unit consists of a bearing support shaft 34. One end of the shaft has
attached a rubberized pulley 36 with a diameter equal to 1.5 inches of tape per
revolution. The other end of the shaft has attached a twenty slotted encoder
disc 38. A LED (light emitting diode)/ photodetector unit 40 straddled across the
disc 38 allows the monitoring of the tape speed. The high increments of
feedback allow smooth speed adjustment for the maintenance of the
predetermined linear tape speed.
The counter for the electro- optical search system is located below the
forward drive motor 12 (Fig. 3). A disc 44 with 120 slots in the light tigh...
