This search box also supports the look-up of an IP.com Digital Signature (also referred to as Fingerprint); enter the 72-, 48-, or 32-character code to retrieve details of the associated file or submission.
Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

Thermal Air Flow Detection Assembly
This arrangement provides an inexpensive thermal detector for checking that
a proper amount of cooling air is being provided to apparatus associated with the
Referring to the drawing, the assembly is mounted to a chassis 3, which may
form a part of a cabinet or mounting chassis for associated electronic equipment
which is to be cooled by a flow of cooling air, and the rate of flow is to be
detected by the assembly. A thermal switch 5 of a type well known in the art is
mounted on a heat sink plate 7, with one portion of the switch extending through
the chassis, as shown. Terminal lugs 9 and 11 on the switch are connected to
the contact mechanism inside the switch, and provide a closed circuit when the
operating temperature at the heat sink plate 7 is below a predetermined
temperature When the temperature of plate 7 rises above the predetermined
value, the contacts in switch 5 open, thus opening any circuit connected to
terminals 9 and 11.
Also mounted on heat sink 7 is a power resistor 13, provided with terminal
lugs 15 and 17. A relatively constant current is fed through resistor 13 by a
circuit connected to lugs 15 and 17, so that the I/2/R drop in the resistor causes a
predetermined amount of heat to be supplied to the heat sink 7 from the resistor 13. Under normal operating conditions, with a suitable flow of
heat supplied from the resistor to the heat sink 7 will be insufficient to raise it
