number of gates is reduced to 8, as shown in Fig. 2. A similar version for positive
polarity inputs and outputs (not shown) takes nine gates.
Fig. 3 shows a 4-way exclusive OR implemented in 1-gate-level prior to
leaving the chip by OR-ing pairs of 2-way exclusive ORs. Input loading is
reduced to 2, fan-in to 2, and AND-dotting to 4 to permit a 1-gate-level

of the in-phase (OR) output of the gate, and collector-dotting (AND-dotting) of
