Abstract

Fig. 1 is a diagrammatic representation of pack 1 consisting of a great number of flexible magnetic disks 2 rotatably mounted on spindle 3. On the outside of the pack are arranged reference plates 4, 5 which rotate with spindle 3 and disks 2. Reference plates 4, 5 and the individual flexible disks 2 are provided with ventilation holes 6 which are aligned to each other and which are concentrically arranged in the inner region of the disks around spindle 3. When pack 1 rotates with spindle 3, the pump effect of flexible disks 2 causes air to be axially sucked in through ventilation holes 6 and to be radially expelled to the outside through the gaps between disks 2.
