A graphics construction aid for a typewriter allows the typist to construct line drawings, such as forms and simple figures, directly from the typewriter keyboard. The typist simply positions the print point, chooses the type of figure to be created, indicates the stopping point, and the typewriter thereafter automatically types the graphic symbol under control of a preprogrammed storage unit. Figures such as squares, triangles, parallelograms, diamonds, circles and lines (horizontal, vertical, diagonal) can thus be readily created.
