In known unidirectional, analog-deflected, ink jet printing, the ink drops receive a charge of one sign only, while uncharged drops are guttered. From a droplet interaction point of view, this results in inefficient operation, since only the uncharged drops (or close to zero charge drops) are placed accurately on the desired position in a vertical raster.
