Sigma bubble domains are those having two vertical Bloch lines with opposing twist senses in their domain walls. These bubble domains can be translated by the application of time-varying magnetic field pulses having no spatial gradients. Such a technique is termed "automotion" Automotion can utilize either z-field pulses or in-plane pulses. In particular, it can be used to translate a lattice of magnetic bubble domains in two directions.
