Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

Drum Seal Interlock
An interlock switch ensures that the seal for a photoconductor drum is
properly seated before machine operation is allowed. Potential copy machine
damage from improperly seated drum seals is prevented.
Copy machine drum 10 is configured to receive a wrap-around
photoconductor sheet (not shown). After a preselected number of copies are
run, the photoconductor sheet is changed by removing drum seal 12 and
replacing the photoconductor sheet so that the ends are retained internally to
drum 10 by seal 12. An improperly seated seal 12, after replacement of the
photoconductor sleeve or sheet, can damage the machine on rotation of drum 10.
Switch 15 is actuated by proper placement of seal 12 and is
connected in series with drum heater blanket 16 along with thermostat
18 and primary power source 20 which might typically be 115 volts AC.
Slip rings SL couple operating power to the circuit elements within
drum 10. Current flow through switch 15, heater blanket 16 and
thermostat 18 induces current in coil 22, which is rectified through
network 25 so that a voltage is induced across resistor 26. The
resistor 26 voltage produces an input to operational amplifier 28 to
provide a logic signal at line 30, which must be present to enable
machine operation. Neon indicator 32 and series resistor 33 assure
that there is current flowing through the circuit even when
thermostat 18 is open, thereby maintaining a continuous enabling
output at 30 unless 15 is open. Neo...
