Abstract

Leading edge E of a laminated printed-circuit (PC) male connector card 10 (Fig. 1) is contoured in a bullet-nose-like shape for easy insertion into a compatible female receptacle (not shown). One method of forming the PC connector card is as follows: Step 1. A solid prepreg sheet 11 (Figs. 2, 3) is assembled between two prepreg sheets 12, 13. Preformed and registered cutouts 14 are provided in sheets 12, 13. Step 2. The assembled and registered sheets 11-13, in turn, are placed between two layers 15, 16 of rolled annealed copper foil. Step 3. Assembly 11-16 is then laminated in a laminating press between two press plates 17, 18 (Fig. 3). Plates 17, 18 have projections 19 which are in register with the cutouts 14. The resultant structure is a fused laminated prepreg core formed from sheets 11-13.
