Microcode Exposure of Errant Branches

Program analysis for errant branches is aided by saving the current branch instruction that causes a problem. Such referral is accomplished by storing the address of this instruction via microcode in an internal "save" area in response to selected Program Checks. A programmer is then able to backtrack to the last branch instruction.
