The electrode illustrated above is suitable for producing a series of different dot sizes on a metal(aluminum)-coated paper via the well-known electro-erosion process. The electrode comprises a concentric series of electrodes 10-12 which are electrically isolated from each other. The dot size actually produced can be changed by selecting in advance the number of electrodes which will be simultaneously energized, thus enabling half-tone printing by use of a single electrode.
