Abstract

In the IBM 3277 display terminal, bits 4 and 5 of the field attribute byte are used to specify intensity and selectability. Thus, if bit 4 is on, characters within that field are displayed at high intensity. If bit 5 is on, characters within that field can be selected by a light pen. Except for APL versions of the 3277 display, bit 6 of the field attribute byte is unused.
