A method is described herein for performing digitally the conversion between the standard 12 channel FDM (Frequency Division Modulation) group to the TDM (Time Division Modulation) format. The main advantages of this method are: (1) It requires a significantly lower computation rate than previously proposed methods [1,2]. (2) Due to the use of Frequency Impulse Response (FIR), filters require only 16-bit arithmetic to achieve the performance specifications, whereas previous methods required in excess of 20-bit arithmetic. Modulation (TDM to FDM Conversion).
