In life testing a group of capacitors, logic circuits monitor the current flow across limiting resistors in series with the capacitors. The capacitors may have a fixed voltage applied or a ramp of increasing voltage. When a capacitor fails, a signal is sensed across the associated limiting resistor. This triggers the logic circuit to record the address of the failure, disconnect the failed capacitor, and record the voltage (or time) of failure.
