Latching mechanisms for latching covers into place can be simplified by forming flanges from the cover itself, in order to retain the mechanism in place without additional housing elements. In the drawing, cover 10 is adapted to contain latch mechanism 20. Flange 11, formed out of cover 10, has an opening for receiving block 21, located at the extremity of plunger rod 22. Spring 23 encircles rod 22, and when the latch mechanism is in place, spring 23 is captured between flange 11 and latch element 24.
