Abstract

Blank green sheet is delivered via an input transfer head (not shown to the general area of a carrier 20. The carrier contains a cavity that is equal in size to the maximum acceptable green sheet. The bottom surface of the cavity is made of a porous material except for alignment bushings 22 located where holes are to be pierced in the green sheet. As the input transfer head descends, it is guided over the carrier cavity. Vacuum is switched to pressure in the head, and the carrier plenum is pressurized to suspend the green sheet within the carrier cavity.
