Abstract

Magnetic bubble devices can be fabricated using metallic glass alloys, such as (CoFe)(80)B(20), for the magnetic drive layer. These alloys can be deposited in thin film form at a thickness of about 1,000-5,000 angstroms. They are patterned in the normal manner to provide propagation elements. Application of a reorienting, in-plane magnetic field moves bubble domains along this drive layer.
