Abstract

This application enables a computer, such as the IBM Series/1, to communicate with and control the data transfer from O.E.M. ticketing trunks in order to perform a toll billing function for direct-distance-dialed calls. In telephone call processing (Fig. 1) there are two major paths for traffic to follow. Local calls (non-billed) go directly through the central office 1 via a switched path 2, while long-distance (toll) calls go outside the office via a "ticketing trunk" 3.
